The Goodman Book Writing Award recognizes authorship of an out- standing book in the field of optics and photonics.
May 6, 2014: The paper A platform for practical plasmonics, authored by V. Shalaev and A. Boltasseva (NMTI Co- Founders), and their colleagues at Purdue University, was featured in the SPIE Newsroom. The paper describes applications of Titanium Nitride (TiN) as a plasmonic material alternative to the traditional gold and silver. The technologies commercialized by NMTI are based on this unique plasmonic material.
April 18, 2014 - A Purdue University press release and a paper "Refractory Plasmonics" (Science, 344, 263-4 (2014)) highlight NMTI's R&D work on refractory plasmonic materials/ thermo-plasmonics. Relevant application areas are thermal photovoltaics, heat assisted magnetic recording of data on computer hard drives and photo-thermal cancer therapy.
